Posted on January 14, 2016February 24, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

I’ve taken care of the best movies for the most part, so let’s focus on the performances. In this piece, I am going to talk about the supporting women of 2015. Vets, newcomers, and breakouts alike shined in 2015 and it was tough to narrow it down to just five. But I had to, and here are the five best performances by an actress in a supporting role. 5 – JANE FONDA in “YOUTH”…

Oscar Predictions – Final Nomination Picks

Posted on January 14, 2016February 24, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

The Academy will announce their nominations early on Thursday. The Golden Globes and the recent nominations from the Producers Guild and Directors Guild has slightly cleared up the extremely foggy Oscar race that we have in front of us. Here are my final predictions for the 2016 Oscar nominations. I’m still only going to pick the same nine categories that I have been and skip over the techs for now. You can watch all the…

Continuing my look at the best films of 2015, let’s look at the best of each genre. You can watch the trailers for all the movies by clicking on the title of the movie. BEST COMEDY – “Trainwreck” Runner Up – “Ted 2” + I am one of the few people who really liked Ted 2 and I actually think it is one of the best comedy sequels of all-time. The 2015 movie year is over. Overall, I would say it has been a pretty great year for movies. The first half of the year was a little rough, but the second half really picked up and was filled with some amazing films. This is the first of a few lists that I will be making covering the 2015 movie year. This first list will cover the technical and writing categories. BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY – “Inside…

2016 Golden Globes – Who Should/Will Win

Posted on January 10, 2016December 26, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

The Golden Globes are tonight and it is going to be a little different than most years. Usually, the Globes don’t have a ton of say in the Oscar race. From some questionable nominations (Johnny Depp being a double nominee for The Tourist and Alice in Wonderland in 2010) to some interesting winners (Avatar winning Best Picture -Drama over The Hurt Locker and Inglorious Basterds), The Globes aren’t usually the greatest Oscar predictor. This year,…

Review – The Revenant

Posted on January 3, 2016August 22, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu follows up his 2014 Oscar winning masterpiece Birdman with one of the most brutal and chilling movie going experiences of 2015, The Revenant. This is a no holds barred, white-knuckle, brilliant movie that plays out like action-horror movie set in the forest. The film is set in the 1820’s, where frontiersman Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) goes on an epic journey to seek revenge on the group of men who left him for dead…

Dear Academy, Please Don’t Forget…

Yesterday, the ballots were officially sent out to members of the Academy for them to vote on what they think are the best movies and performances of 2015. So, before the Academy makes their final decisions, here are some films and performances they shouldn’t forget. These films and performances are going to be from films that would actually have a chance at a nomination, not just any random movie (sorry Goosebumps). Some of these films…
