Review – Allegiant

Posted on March 23, 2016May 30, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

Allegiant is the third installment of the Divergent series following Divergent (2014) and Insurgent (2015). And, much like most YA adaptations nowadays, the studios decided to split the final entry of the series into two movies. So far, splitting the final chapter into two has not panned out so well. Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Part I (2010) was boring but Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) was extraordinary. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014) and Part 2 (2015) both suffered from redundancy and lack…

Top 5 – Movies to Watch on St Patricks Day

Posted on March 17, 2016June 13, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

Happy St Patrick’s Day kids! If you’d rather kick it at home with some corned beef and a Guiness rather than blacking out from green beer and whiskey, here are some great Irish themed movies you can check out. 5 – The Leprechaun Series It’s not St. Patrick’s Day without leprechauns and, amazingly, there are not a lot of movies with leprechauns in it. Shocker, I know. I cheated and put the entire series at number…

Posted on March 16, 2016March 5, 2018 by Kevin Wozniak

This Friday, director Ryan Coogler is releasing his latest film, Marvel’s Black Panther. Since his debut film Fruitvale Station in 2013, Coogler has quickly risen the ranks as one of the best, most exciting directors in Hollywood today, continuing to challenge himself and make great movies. So in honor Coogler an all the other great, young talent in Hollywood today, I am going to look at the best director’s with five or less features. Here are those…

Top 5 – Pie Scenes in a Movie

Posted on March 14, 2016June 13, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

Today is Pi Day (3.14), so to have a little fun, here are the best pie scenes in cinematic history. 5 – Sweeney Todd and the Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Tim Burton, 2007) Sweeney Todd and the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is one of my favorite musicals of all-time and one of Tim Burton’s best films. Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter) and her pies are horrible, as her intro song implies….

Review – 10 Cloverfield Lane

Posted on March 11, 2016June 13, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

I am going to give this review without giving too much away because 10 Cloverfield Lane is a movie that you need to see with as little information about the movie as possible when going in. Thanks in large part to a brilliant marketing campaign with stellar trailers, 10 Cloverfield Lane is, much like the last movie with word ‘Cloverfield’ in the title, a giant mystery. Nobody really knows what is going on and that makes for one a thrilling,…

Throwback Thursday Review – Cloverfield (2008)

Posted on March 10, 2016June 13, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

Cloverfield was one of the biggest mysteries of 2007. After the first teaser trailer premiered before Transformers, it was a movie that everyone was talking about, with the major question being, “What is running through New York?” The question has finally been answered. Cloverfield is one of the most unique and original monster movies I have ever seen. It has a great style and tension, but the monster and overall movie did not live up to…

Top 5 – Moments in the ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer

Posted on March 10, 2016May 4, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

The latest Captain America: Civil War trailer dropped today and needless to say, it is as epic as any trailer released this year. I had the movie ranked at number seven on my most anticipated movies of the year. But after this trailer, I would now move it up to within my top five. Here are what I saw as the best moments from the latest trailer. Here is the trailer incase you haven’t watched…

Top 5 – Teaser Trailers

Posted on March 9, 2016June 13, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

With 10 Cloverfiled Lane coming out on Friday, the sequel (I think) of the 2008 found footage monster movie Cloverfield. Both films had great teaser trailers, especially the first one. Along with Cloverfield, there have been a lot of legendary teaser trailers, which is what I will be looking at today. A teaser trailer isn’t a full on trailer that gives you all the characters and plot. They give you a taste, hence the word, tease….

Top 5 – Actors That Could Play J Jonah Jameson

Posted on March 8, 2016June 13, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

It was announced yesterday that Oscar winner J.K. Simmons will be playing Commissioner Gordon in The Justice League (2017). While this is great news for DC and The Justice League, this does sadden me a bit. This ultimately means that Simmons will be unable to reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, scheduled to come out in 2017. Simmons portrayal of Jameson is iconic and arguably the best part of the Sam Raimi directed Spider-Man films….

Top 5 – Awesome Movies Coming Out in March

Posted on March 7, 2016June 13, 2016 by Kevin Wozniak

February has come and gone, and it was surprisingly a great month in cinema. Movies like Deadpool, Hail, Caesar, and The Witch were all great in their own way and were bright spots in what is usually a dead month for movies. But now, it is on the March, which is usually the real start to the cinematic year. I probably should have made this last before this past weekend so I could have put…
