Top 5 – Awesome Movies Coming to Netflix in March
Netflix is coming in strong this March, with some cinematic classics, and original show, and one of the best movies of 2017. Check out my picks of the best movies coming to Netflix in March.

5 – IRON FIST (Scott Buck, 2017)
Another year, another MCU Netflix show. Iron Fist is the final installment of The Defenders, which combines Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist in one super group, kind of like The Avengers, but the street level version. Netflix has done great work with all of their shows, and Iron Fist looks like another winner. It has a very Batman-like origin story, yet feels a lot lighter and more fun than the previous Marvel shows. I can’t wait to binge this show and await The Defenders.
4 – CHICAGO (Rob Marshall, 2002)
I recently re-watched Rob Marshall’s Oscar winning musical and this movie still blows me away fifteen years later. It is a rousing spectacle of murder, deceit, jealousy, a some of the most exciting musical numbers you’ll see on film. The stellar cast of Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere, John C. Reilly, Queen Latifah, and Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones are all spectacular and Rob Marshall’s direction is top notch, with great choreographed dance numbers and quick editing. Worthy of it’s Best Picture win, this is one of the best musicals I’ve ever seen on film.
3 – WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? (Robert Zemeckis, 1988)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is a revolutionary film. This is a landmark film in creativity and animation. How could a comedy noir starring Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, and Betty Boop be an actual movie? Well, it is, and with the mastery of Robert Zemeckis behind the camera, it is true brilliance. It is a great mystery with classic noir tropes, including a grizzled detective played with pitch perfect delivery and realism by Bob Hoskins, woven into a surreal animated world that is beautiful to look at and full of energy. This is as original and inventive as movies get and one that stands the test of time.
2 – MEMENTO (Christopher Nolan, 2001)
Memento is a truemasterpiece. Christopher Nolan’s second film is unlike any film before it. This is a film that shows the ending first, and then progressively goes backwards to show us how our forgetful detective, played by the marvelous Guy Pierce, got to where he is. In true Christopher Nolan fashion, the ending, though technically the beginning, has a twist that will have you thinking for days after you see it and will make you want to re-watch it immediately. This is one of the best movies of the 21st century.
1 – THE DISCOVERY (Charlie McDowell, 2017)
The Discovery is a science fiction love story starring Jason Segel, Rooney Mara, and Robert Redford about a futuristic world where the afterlife has been proven, causing people to take their own lives to get to there. I saw this film at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and I loved every moment of it. It has great performances, an original story, and a twisty ending. You can read my full review here, but The Discovery is one of my favorite movies of 2017 and has a great chance of staying there come year’s end.
